How to Use BEEZIRO Beeswax Wrap?

The edible beeswax and food grade jojoba oil makes is safe to have BEEZIRO beeswax wraps in direct contact with your food. Use the warmth of your hands to soften the wrap and form over a bowl, container, or a piece of food. As the wrap cools down, it creates a seal. A BEEZIRO beeswax wrap can also be folded into a snack or sandwich bag!

What to Wrap?

How to Clean?

Hand Wash with Cold Water

Always use COLD water to clean your beeswax wrap. Hand wash gently and don't put it in the dishwasher. The beeswax on the wrap will harden when exposed to cold water, which would keep it from chipping off. You could use the help of a damp cloth or sponge to clean the wrap. Do not scrub nor wring it.

Use Alcohol-Free Dish Soap

In most cases, you can clean your beeswax wrap with just water. But if you find it necessary to use dish soap, please use an alcohol-free one, as alcohol will dissolve the beeswax. For cleaning dirtier or many beeswax wraps together, you can soak them in cold water for 1~2 minutes before washing them.

Air Dry or Use a Towel

Do not wring your beeswax wrap after washing it. Air dry or use a clean cloth or towel to absorb the water from the wrap, and it can be used again right away!

Creases & Stains

Over time you will find creases and food stains on your wrap. Don't worry! This is normal and won't affect the function of the wrap. Minimize staining by rinsing the wrap with cold water shortly after removing the food.

How Long Does It Last?

BEEZIRO can last around 6 months or more, depending on how well you take care of it. When its life comes to an end, it can be composted and will biodegrade, keeping it from going to the landfill.

Care Tips

Avoid Heat

Avoid sources of heat, such as microwaves, oven, and hot water.  Beeswax's melting point is at 60+ degree Celsius, so don't wrap a steaming hot baozi or anything above 45 degrees.

No RAW Meat or Seafood

To kill the bacteria on anything that has been in contact with raw meat or seafood, you need to use boiling water to clean it. Considering the fact that beeswax wraps can't be washed with hot water, as well as for your safety, do not use a beeswax wrap for RAW meat or seafood.

Freezing

Beeswax wraps can be put in a freezer, up to a month. Great for freezing bread, pizza dough, or other baked goods. When taken out from the freezer, leaving it at room temperature for 5 to 10 minutes before unwrapping it would help make the wrap last longer.

Sealing

Beeswax wraps have a certain level of water resistance; however, it is the self-adhesiveness that creates the seal, it sticks to itself, not the item it's wrapping. So, when using the wrap to cover the container with liquid inside, don't place it upside down or tilt it.

Cutting

It is not recommended to cut your beeswax wrap. It is your habit of using plastic wraps that makes you think it has to fit the exact thing you're wrapping. Keeping the wrap in its full size will allow it to come into use in more scenarios. If you still decide to cut your wrap, do it with a rotary blade or very sharp scissors to prevent the fabric from fraying.
